Center for Hemophilia and Hematopoietic Depression

Significant progress in the study of hereditary hemorrhagic diseases is associated with the opening at the Institute of the Center for Hemophilia and Depression of the Hematopoietic System, which was completely reconstructed and equipped by the MEKHR NURI Foundation. There are 50 beds in the center, of which 10 are for children. The center provides diagnostic, specialized medical, orthopedic, surgical and physiotherapy assistance to patients with pathology of the blood coagulation system and suppression of hematopoiesis.

The center hospitalizes patients with diagnoses: hemophilia, aplastic anemia, hereditary thrombocytopathy, other types of coagulopathy and multiple myeloma.

The center works closely with the World Federation of Hemophilia and the Novo-Nordisk Hemophilia Foundation (Switzerland).

With the support of the Novo-Nordisk Hemophilia Foundation, epidemiological studies were carried out to study the state of hemophilia in Uzbekistan, covering all regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Karakalpakstan. A national register of patients with hemophilia has been established.

Specialized care is provided to patients, as well as training, rehabilitation and psychological adaptation of children suffering from hereditary blood diseases.

Under the auspices of the World Federation of Hemophilia, the doctors of the center underwent training in large hematological centers in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Slovakia, Oxford, Turkey. Applied scientific work is underway to study osteoporosis in patients with hemophilia, the treatment of chronic synovitis with rifampicin, and the cytokine status in patients with aplastic anemia is being studied.
