The department is a structural subdivision of the Central Clinical Hospital and is designed to provide specialized, incl. high-tech medical care in the "hematology" profile
The main tasks of the Department of Hematology:

♦provision of specialized, including high-tech, medical care in the "hematology" profile for patients with diseases of the blood, hematopoietic organs, malignant neoplasms of lymphoid, hematopoietic and related tissues;

♦diagnosis of diseases using special manipulations (puncture and trepanobiopsy of the bone marrow, lumbar puncture, biopsy of lymph nodes and other organs and tissues);

treatment of patients with blood diseases using standard and high-dose chemotherapy, immunosuppressive therapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, transfusion of blood components and blood substitutes, extracorporeal methods of exposure and other methods of treatment within specialized, including high-tech, medical care;

observation of patients and their treatment using high-dose chemotherapy, bone marrow autotransplantation within the framework of specialized, including high-tech, medical care;

prevention and timely intensive care of complications, incl. life-threatening conditions that have arisen during treatment;

high-dose chemotherapy with or without hematopoietic stem cell support;

referral of patients for consultation to resolve the issue of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation in medical organizations providing this type of medical care;

consulting doctors of other specialties on diagnostics, treatment and prevention of blood diseases;
- ♦introduction into practice of new methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients with blood diseases.
All treatment is carried out in accordance with international and national recommendations of programs and protocols with proven effectiveness. The hospital is a multidisciplinary medical institution and has all the diagnostic and pharmacological capabilities, hemocomponent support for a full examination and treatment of hematological patients. In addition, the doctors of the department actively consult both inpatients and outpatients.
