In 2005, on the basis of NIIG and PC, the Anemia Center was established (headed by D.N.Suleymanova, MD). The main tasks of the Center are to coordinate the strategy to combat anemia in the republic, to ensure stable monitoring and assessment of the effectiveness of combating anemia, to conduct scientific research based on international standards, to obtain reliable statistical data on the dynamics and causes of anemia, to develop new programs, to cooperate with international organizations, to improve standards for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of anemia.
