Center for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Therapy

The center was established by order of the Ministry of Health dated February 14, 2014 No. 47. With the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), the Center is equipped with modern equipment.

The center is a 5-bed department for the treatment of patients with hematopoietic stem cells.

The entire staff of the center underwent internships and trainings in Russia and Turkey. The Center is currently treating patients with multiple myeloma. The selection of patients for treatment with hematopoietic stem cells is carried out by age (under 65 years old), according to the state of internal organs (absence of infectious, severe cardiovascular, pulmonary and renal-hepatic diseases). The preparatory course of chemotherapy is carried out at the Center itself. After achieving remission of the disease, the question of the use of stem cell treatment is decided.

To date, the Center has performed 10 hematopoietic stem cell transplant operations. 4 more patients are being prepared.

In the future, it is planned to expand the activities of the Center and treatment will be carried out not only for patients with myeloma, but also with lymphomas, acute and chronic leukemias, as well as patients with thalassemias, aplastic anemias and collagenoses.

The center works closely with leading specialists from different countries in the field of transplantation and hematology.
